Assassin in D2 Survivors
Choose Fire Blast for the early fire trap chain, or Dragon Talon/Tiger Strike for martial arts. Wake of Fire and Death Sentry belong to separate chains. Faster Cast Rate speeds placement, not the firing rate of an already placed trap.

Opening choices and progression gates
These mechanics are sourced to the official wiki alone; no independent source confirms these exact current-build values. Route choices are editorial guidance, not tested final loadouts. Ordinary base skills need 8 learned ranks, evolution bases 1, the named catalyst and a chest after all character-level gates are met. The linked build page includes alternatives and Hell/Terror limits.
| Route | Starting point | Progression boundary |
|---|---|---|
| Opening traps | Fire Blast | Faster Cast Rate → Wake of Fire (12); Fade → Wake of Inferno (24). |
| Lightning traps | Charged Bolt Sentry from 12 | Faster Cast Rate → Lightning Sentry (24) → Death Sentry (30). |
| Martial route | Tiger Strike | Venom → Phoenix Strike (30); Dragon Talon has a separate finisher chain. |
Three trees
Traps, Martial Arts, and Shadow Disciplines. Traps fire on their own. Martial arts hit the toughest target. Shadow Master is the body the page tells you to put in front.
- Fire traps: Fire Blast → Wake of Fire → Wake of Inferno. Lightning traps: Charged Bolt Sentry → Lightning Sentry → Death Sentry. These are separate evolution chains.
- Tiger Strike evolves into Phoenix Strike with Venom from level 30. Dragon Talon follows the separate Dragon Claw → Dragon Tail → Dragon Flight finisher chain.
- Survival passives: Fade and Weapon Block.
What 2.70× does not mean
It is not a leaderboard rank. The Terror page's compensation logic is the same sentence for every class: pull clear speed toward the Amazon. The Assassin's number is simply larger than the Paladin's. A third-party snapshot of highest floors, on the tier page, does not put her first.
Questions and answers
Do I press Burst of Speed?
No. On this page Burst of Speed, Fade, Venom, Claw Mastery, and Weapon Block are passives. They are not casts.
How do martial arts charges work?
Charge-up skills gain up to three charges; their fourth attack releases their own three-charge effect. Finishers Dragon Talon, Dragon Claw, Dragon Tail and Dragon Flight release all held charge-up skills.
What is the +skills curve?
The page says trap, blade, Psychic Hammer, and Mind Blast +skills follow the Diablo II curve where one point is about four Diablo II levels, steeper than the Paladin and Barbarian 2.5.
