D2 Survivors saves, codes, and browser-to-PC transfer
I read the official saves page and a second site's save-progress write-up on 29 October 2026. They agree on the menu path: SAVES, then a code or a dated text file, then a side-by-side preview before Replace. The second site only tested the same version. I am not claiming a cross-version one-click migration, because the official page does not describe one.
What one save contains
The official saves page lists a single save for the browser profile or the desktop install. Every class hero you have started lives in it, plus gold, Charsi upgrades, the stash, the Uniques tab, Terror floor, mercenary, Cain's quest, skill modifiers, and the loot filter.
Backups the browser keeps
Newest three copies, plus one for each of the last three days, at most one write a minute. Safari nags you to export after 7 days. Other browsers nag after 14. Safari deletes site data after about a week away, which takes the save with it. Export before you update or switch browsers.
- A newer code opened on an older build asks you to update.
- A hero or run the new build cannot read is set aside, not deleted.
- An edited save can still be played. It will never be accepted on the ladder.
- Gear, charms, or a mercenary with illegal numbers get a red “Not legit” frame.
Questions and answers
Can a Hardcore save move to another browser or the app?
No. The saves page says Hardcore cannot be exported or imported. It has its own save and its own ladder.
What if the code is longer than a million characters?
The saves page says a code over 1,000,000 characters is rejected. Spaces and line breaks are ignored. A damaged or cut-off code is reported as damaged.
Does Continue resume mid-act?
No. Continue restores level and build, then starts at the beginning of the current act. Save and Exit writes the save. Closing the tab is not a Hardcore death.
